LISTENING TO MUSIC IN ART PAINTING SERIES: Early on, music seemed like a possible life choice before I turned to painting. In my teens, I briefly played the flute and bass guitar. Later, I studied piano and songwriting for several years. Music remains an integral part of my life, and a prime element in my paintings. This painting series also features my sequential paintings, many of which are paced like songs and music compositions. The sequential aspect reflects my passion for comic art and graphic novels. I’ve always believed narrative comic art has a musical rhythm much like a song or musical piece. I listen to music while I paint. I listen to my paintings for the music.
