Here is the first in my "garden to easel" painting series. This features a young vegetable from my garden, the "model" for the painting which I've embedded within the surface of the painting. The dried green onion plant at the bottom right of the painting is encased in polymer medium, merging the painted image with the physical plant. The large scale of the canvas emphasizes the plant's delicate, newborn size.
