This painting is my first exploration into painting a solo young vegetable from my garden and preserving the actual plant within the surface of the painting. The green onion plant is encased in polymer medium at the bottom right, merging the painted image with the physical "model." The large scale of the canvas emphasizes the plant's delicate, newborn nature.
